Georgia Unemployment at 2.8 Percent for Second Month in a Row

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report Friday, September 16 with preliminary unemployment and jobs data from August. According to the report, the national unemployment rate is at 3.7 percent which is .2 percent higher than July. 

Georgia’s unemployment rate stayed steady in August at 2.8 percent and the state added over 15,000 nonfarm jobs.

Breastfeeding in the Workplace

Breastfeeding is legal in all fifty states, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, thanks to protections granted by the Affordable Care Act. Out of those 50 states, 30 of them have laws governing breastfeeding in the workplace, and Georgia is one of them.
